Once Lord Buddha born in a family of a Lord High Treasure of Benares, and brought up in the lap of all luxury like royal prince.At the age of sixteen he, Lord Buddha Jataka made himself perfect of all accomplishments.At his father's death he filled the office of Lord High Treasure, and built six almonries one at each of the four gates of the city, one in the centre of the city and one at the gate of his own mansion.Very bountiful was h,and he kept the commandments,and observed the first day duties.
One day at breakfast time when dainty fare exquisite taste and variety was being brought in for Bodhisatta, a Paeceka Buddha rising from a seven days trance of mystic ecstasy,and noticing it was time to go his rounds.So he cleaned his mouth and equipped with a bowl ,he passed through the air and arrived at the gate of mansion just as the Bodhisatta breakfast was taken in.
As soon as Bodhisatta became aware of his presence there he rose at once from his seat and looked at the attendant he said ,"What am I to do my lord?"Bring his reverence's bowl."
At that very instant God Mara rose up up and and said that it was seven days that Paeceka Buddha had food given him;if he gets none to that day he will perish.
But Bodhisatta all as his previous births wanted to prove good God Mara wrong .Mara prepared a pit of Acacia-charcoal,a pit of red hot embers felt like hell.But Bodhisatta grasping the bowl of food entered in to the fire pit;there appeared a lotus flower which touched Bodhisatta feet.Standing at the heart of lotus Bodhisatta poured the food into the bowl of Paeceka Buddha.Lord Mara convinced to the power of Bodhisatta and returned his abode. Bodhisatta all his life shewed charity and good works,till he passed away to fare according to his deserts.
